TikTok celebrates berberine as a natural ozempic!
Berberine is a herbal active ingredient extracted from various plants such as barberry. It has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, especially in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.
The berberine hype arose when influencers began to share their positive experiences with the supplement.
They reported rapid weight loss and improved blood sugar levels, similar to what is seen with Ozempic .
Since Ozempic is touted on social media as a “miracle cure” for obesity , but is only available on prescription and often associated with side effects, berberine has attracted a lot of attention as a supposedly natural and over-the-counter alternative.
Can this really be true – how does this berberine in Fitex affect the body?
Berberine activates AMPK , a central enzyme in energy metabolism.
Why is AMPK so important for weight loss?
The enzyme AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is like a small energy manager in our cells, ensuring that our cells are always supplied with enough energy.
When our cells have little energy available, this is immediately registered by the guardian AMPK and the command is sent out to immediately produce more energy.
This happens as follows:
AMPK stimulates fatty acid oxidation , inhibits gluconeogenesis (new formation of glucose) and promotes the uptake of glucose into cells.
Berberine can also influence the activity of PPAR-γ , a transcription factor involved in the regulation of lipid metabolism genes.
By modulating PPAR-γ, berberine can inhibit the differentiation of fat cells and reduce fat accumulation.
These are the effects of Berberine in Fitex on weight loss:

AMPK – the “miracle molecule” with potential for a longer life
AMPK has another feature that I must mention.
Studies on model organisms such as yeast, worms, flies and mice indicate that activation of AMPK increases the lifespan
AMPK promotes autophagy , a cellular process that breaks down and recycles damaged or unnecessary components. This helps maintain cellular health and may slow aging by reducing the accumulation of cellular waste.
You have probably heard the term autophagy in connection with fasting, because this process is also triggered there.
In addition, AMPK optimizes energy metabolism and strengthens mitochondrial function, helping cells work more efficiently and healthily. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce chronic inflammation.

However, I have looked at a lot of reviews about a comparable product from the USA and the ratings were actually very good. I will analyze the reviews in detail and add them here.
Are there side effects – is Fitex harmful or even dangerous?

I find not only the trendy active ingredient Berberine , but also Banaba very innovative, as the corosolic acid in this plant activates the protein GLUT4 (glucose transporter type 4) in muscle and fat cells and also plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism.
The importance of glucose metabolism in losing weight is not only shown by increased fatty acid oxidation , but also by the fact that less sugar is converted into fat.
Particularly noteworthy is the positive effect of the active ingredients in Fitex on the intestinal microbiome , the importance of which for our health and metabolism is now well documented.
Studies show that the composition of the intestinal flora in overweight people differs from that of slim people. Overweight people often have a higher proportion of “fattening bacteria” (such as Firmicutes) and a lower proportion of “slimming bacteria” (such as Bacteroidetes).
